This handmade porcelain jar was formed on a pottery wheel. Then the lid was coated with a layer of porcelain clay slip, in which the dendritic patterns formed. This formation is the result of a chemical reaction.
This lid was then glazed with a light blue glossy glaze, and the body of the jar has a white/pale blue crystalline glaze. This was then fired in a kiln to 2200 Fahrenheit, and crystals formed within the molten glaze as it cooled.
